I want something cheap and yet a bargain. My current budget if I buy a computer is between 600, and up to 1,000 dollars. ( Perhaps 1,200)
I already made my research, but wanted some real person advice on my next PC purchase.

Your budget is not enough for video editing, you’re going to end up spending more like 1,500 to 2,000 if you don’t want your laptop to be slow as heck. i would recommend going with a desktop If you can, otherwise look at Apple and Alienware notebooks. Both companies make very powerful products, great for what you need to do.
get the dell m1530 with some of the upgrades. It’s very fast and it’s awesome. It may be a little more than your budget, but not by much. It is awesome for multimedia purposes.
Or the apple macbook. It is very good for multimedia purposes. It may be way to much for you, but you should look at it.

You really need to increase your budget if u want a good machine for multimedia purposes.
I would suggest the Macbook Pro, and some of the best multimedia software is on that machine. You can buy final cut studio as well as photoshop for your Mac as well.

A mac, but the only won under 999.99 is the normal macbook, priced at 999. only 13.3 inch display, but it is still a great buy. Advanced NVIDIA graphics, a fast Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of memory, and a large drive up to 500GB. 1.08 inches thin, and under 5 pounds.

Probably the newest Alienware m17x, fully upgraded. You can push it to a Core i7-2820QM (2.3GHz quad core), 16GB of RAM, a 1.5GB GTX 460M, and 2x256GB Solid State drives in RAID0. It’s not exactly cheap however.
alienware is the most powerfull BUT they need repaired regularly my sony vaio (fully loaded with the same specs) has never denied me anything i asked of it its great for gaming or anything. i used 3ds max for awhile on it and never gave me hassle it also runs black ops and starcraft2 on ultra settings with out a single lag
Now when you say ‘powerful’, what do you mean? If it’s processor power you’re looking for, the Macbook Pro will suit you. For Gaming, the Dell XPS or Dell Alienware laptops might be better.
Laptops are NOT designed to be game-d on, so don’t expect a good performance on an expensive system!

well… if your looking to spend alot of money….. go to google and search alienware and just max out a laptop…. thats pritty powerful…

Im not sure who makes them in the states, but there are companies that build with quad core desktop cpus, Ive only seen with Q6700 but with the new versions all out now, there should be a few Q9450 Q9550 Q9750 laptops around the trapps. Add a pair of 8800M GTX graphics cards, Dual 200Gb 7200rpm hard drives, 4Gb ram, and youve got a defacto desktop of half the price. Lol, most powerful laptops are Outrageously expensive.for what you get, buy a desktop instead.

Alienware is one of the best ones out there for gaming. But I hope you’re willing to spend a lot on one, if you want the most powerful. Check out the Alienware M17x.
The Alienware M17X, with an 920m it costs 2849,00 but then you only have a 160GB HDD. The graphics card at that set-up is more than good (of course you can still go higher).
Deviltech Fragbook DTX(1500,-), it doesn’t pack an 920m, but a 720m(still very capable) and it does have an nvidia GTX 280m, you’ll probably be able to play games at the highest settings for a year or two, actually i’d recommend a desktop, cause you can upgrade the GPU if it begins to lack for the current games. With a notebook you’re stuck to the same set-up, and it’s not upgradeable, save for the RAM and HDD.
